Unfortunately, I am not surprised that this is happening. The internet has enhanced communication and blogging is just one of the results. But the internet has also created a way for disturbed individuals to lash out in a way that they wouldn’t publicly. They can hide behind aliases and say whatever they want. Increased sexism is just one of the issues. I hope this doesn’t discourage other female bloggers from making their voices heard. Keep your information private but please, keep speaking out.

I’m a female blogger on the Seattle PI newspaper site and co-host and producer of a new TV Talk show for women on the web called http://www.WhitneyandWyatt.com. By putting our names and faces and opinions out there on the web in an effort to give other women a voice in the media, my business partner and I know we are taking a risk. I completely agree with the other commenter that we all need to try to keep speaking up and sharing ideas and opinions.
